For 1969 the design was getting more aggressive with deeper inset single headlights, a more rakish blacked out grille with running lights and a surrounding bright trimming, as well as a simple curved front bumper framing the lower valance. The hood is scooped, and the top is tan canvas and power actuated top with a plastic rear window to add a touch of class to this streetwise no slouch classic. On the back, the Mustang is still utilizing the trio of vertical taillights but now they are straightened out and just flat protrusions for the back panel with another thin slightly upward curved chrome bumper below. Under the hood it is akin to finding a pot of gold and its gleaming, only this pot is a rebuilt 351ci Windsor V8. It has a mild performance cam and roller tip rockers. On top is an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor feeding the 8 candles through an Edelbrock intake. A 4-speed manual Toploader transmission is on back, and the rear axle is Ford 9-inch with 3.50 gearing. Just fab with the blue wires, ribbed cast valve coverings and chromed bolt ons abounding. The engine is so bright, I hafta wear shades...
