Work included reupholstering the interior in Mesh Grey vinyl, installing a 1,915cc air-cooled flat-four and a four-speed “Freeway Flyer” transaxle, converting the front brakes to disc, performing a 12-volt electrical conversion, refurbishing the steering wheel, and fitting lap belts, safari-style windshields, front door handle guards, a reproduction side-step, a front sway bar, a rear camber compensator, and Hankook RA08 tires. Additional details include 14″ steel wheels, a sliding fabric sunroof, Hella “fried egg” front turn indicators, eight skylight windows, six pop-out side windows, and three-row seating.
