This 1949 Chevrolet COE tow truck was modernizing and customizing the truck with highlights including a 383ci stroker V8, a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, and the chassis from a 1999 Chevrolet C3500 pickup. The hydraulic roller engine was assembled with Mahle forged pistons, an Eagle crankshaft, aluminum cylinder heads, and headers. A two-tone blue and silver finish was applied to the cab, while the wrecker bed was painted blue and equipped with a refurbished boom apparatus that has an electric motor, dual cables, an amber beacon light, and dual spotlights. The truck rides on forged and polished 19.5″ wheels and a dually rear axle with air springs, and it has front disc brakes. Inside, the reupholstered cab is outfitted with captain’s chairs, a center console, Dakota Digital instrumentation, and a retro-style head unit.
